Paisley Spree Festival Murals
Project commissioned by Renfrewshire Council and Paisley 2021 to design and paint several large typographic murals for Paisley's annual festival of music and comedy.
The artwork was inspired by posters advertising circus acts from the late 1800s to early 1900s with primary colours and a wide variety of typefaces. Bold backgrounds and limited typeface colours keep the design contemporary and fresh. The murals, situated right outside Paisley's main train station, attracted people to the spiegeltent and to experience the Spree. The murals were painted live where myself and a team successfully painted 50m squared over 5 days.
